Koumpi, is a space made by hand, dedicated to the art of handmade.
Since it opened in 2014, it remains unique in its kind as it has combined the sociability of a café with the creativity of an art workshop, the magic of the beautiful objects made here with the rich blend of the people it hosts. There are so many things one can do at Koumpi, as many as the people who over the years fanatically choose it as a “resort” for many different reasons: Crafting and acquiring new skills, computer work, searching for materials and the most special gifts from the shop, a quiet break for readinng along with a hot drink, meeting friends or colleagues in a homey, comfortable environment, organizing an event or a workshop and the list goes on and on. This is because, over time, Koumpi has gone beyond our original vision and has become everything that the love, dedication and enthusiasm of many different people have created
I am Anthi, and I love art especially when it gets mixed up with our daily lives.
I am moved by old objects and photographs that survive to this day and become beautiful, acquiring experiences and traces over time. I get excited when the things around me and interacting with people give birth to ideas in my mind for creation and transformation.
I like some autumn afternoons with that magical light, enjoying coffee and cookies with friends.
All the above, at some point many years ago, led me to create Koumpi. A lot has changed during this time, but what has remained constant is the excitement of creation and beautiful gatherings. So the time has come for them to spread and reach further, and thus, the corner of Koumpi somewhere in Thessaloniki is joined by the corner of Koumpi on the endless digital map. I hope that on this map, Koumpi Crafts by Anthi becomes a permanent, beloved pin for many of you.
